Red Cross Babysitting Training Course
This course will provide the information and skills necessary for safe and responsible childcare in the absence of parents or guardians. American Red Cross Babysitters Training Course and Basic First Aid cards will be awarded upon successful completion.

Participants should bring a drink, snack, lunch, and a $15 check, made payable to the instructor, for the required handbook. Space is limited. Pre-registration required. Register at the Community Center.

Women's Empowerment Series
Fight Like A Girl Program
This program primary emphasis is to teach women how to fight assault from the ground. Learn how to defend yourself against chokes, hits and grabs. This module is especially effective for attacks in parking lots, parking garages and other areas where it is imperative that you not be taken to a second location.

Magic Waters Water Park (Teens)
Spend a fun-filled day with friends as we road trip to Magic Waters in Rockford, IL. There is something for everyone with water slides, tube slides, a wave pool, lazy river, sand volleyball courts and the Splash Magic Island's Castaway Adventure. Fee includes transportation, admission to the park, and discount on tube rental. Please bring extra money for snacks and tube rental.

Transportation leaves from and returns to the Community Center. Registration deadline is July 2.

US Mailboat Tour/Lake Geneva (Seniors)
Featured in People Magazine and the Wall Street Journal, the Mailboat carries on a tradition since 1873 and is the only marine mail delivery of its type in the country. With passengers, mail and a very brave mailperson, the boat departs every morning for a full lake tour. Learn how the mailperson delivers and picks up mail without the boat ever stopping.

Fee includes transportation by school bus and ticket for the 2.5 hour cruise. Lunch and shopping are self-pay. Return time is approximate.

Overnight Canoe Trip (Teens)
Travel with your friends and other teens from all over Illinois for an exciting adventure trip along a 21-mile scnic stretch of the Wisconsin River. After the first 12 miles, we will set up camp and enjoy a cookout meal, games and relaxing by the fire. The next day, we will finish our trek and return home. The fee includes canoe rental, food, T-shirt, and transportation.

Anderson Japanese Garden
The stunning Japanese Gardens in Rockford are located on a twelve acre site which contains an authentic Japanese pond strolling garden, guest house, tea house, gazebo, stone lanterns and waterfalls, as well as, the Garden of Reflection, and a contemporary garden. Enjoy a one hour guided tour and time for exploring on your own. Enjoy lunch at the new restaurant which overlooks the gardens. Lunch is off the menu and self-pay. Are you looking for something different to do on a Saturday night? Join us as we keep the Community Center open late just for you. Enjoy an evening with your friends watching movies, playing cards, basketball, swimming, wallyball, foosball, pool, dancing, participating in contests, and eating. The fee includes food, and fun. The fitness and weight rooms will not be available for use. Once you arrive for the evening, you will not be able to leave unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. No pool passes accepted for this event.
