The Cary Park District’s senior programming is held at the Community Center located at 255 Briargate Road, Cary. Registration for programs is accepted online at carypark.com and at the Community Center. For more information on senior programming, please call the Cary Park District at 847-639-6100.

Remember When…
A fun, interactive stroll down memory lane, led by nostalgic humorist Todd Hunt. Remember when there was just one flavor of Cheerios (no Honey Nut, Apple Cinnamon or Chocolate Peanut Butter)? Humans answered the phone (no voicemail maze)? Crazy fads like pet rocks and mood rings? Enjoy photos, videos and recollections of TV shows, childhood candy and vintage ads. Todd Hunt shares these and other examples of growing up in small-town America, when times were simpler. (Do you still have your mood
ring and Barbie doll?) A soup lunch will be served after the presentation. Registration deadline is April 3 and refunds will not be issued after the deadline.

Hairspray at The Fireside

In 1962 Baltimore – Tracy Turnblad – a big hearted teen with a passion for dance – lands a spot on a hit TV dance show and becomes an overnight star. Using her fame, she takes on teen queen Amber, wins over heartthrob Link, and fights to integrate the show. Winner of 8 Tony Awards, Hairspray is a joyful, high-energy celebration of acceptance, equality, and the power of standing up for what’s right.

Before the show, enjoy a delicious meal with spring salad, freshly baked bread and your choice of coffee, tea or milk. Select one of the following entrees: Pretzel-Crusted Chicken, Baked Almond-Crusted Cod, Barbequed Baby Back Ribs, or Vegetarian Flatbread Pizza. Finish your meal with a slice of Key Lime pie for dessert. Purchase additional beverages on your own. Please provide your menu choice before the trip.

Transportation is by Park District bus. Moderate walking is involved with this trip.
