This fun program will allow your child to release energy, make friends, and keep moving. Players will be placed on a team prior to the first practice. Take part in the annual Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run contest to compete against other youth from across the country in a baseball and softball contest. Each contestant will go through a series of three drills to record the best score possible. The boy and girl who score the highest in each age group will be entered into a pool with other local competition winners. The top scorers in the pool will advance to a regional contest in the area with potential of moving onto the national finals.
Age Requirements
Participants must be 7 years old by November 15, 2023 and cannot turn 15 years old before November 15, 2023. If you advance in the competition, birth certificates will be checked before being able to compete.
Bat Requirements
All personal bats used must have either a USA Baseball stamp, BBCOR stamp, or be labeled with a BPF of 1.15 or less.

Students must be available for all rehearsals and the performance day. Tech week will take place the entire week preceding the performance. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled as needed. Food, fire, and fun all in one! It's time to go beyond roasting hot dogs on a stick. Using the group cooking method, everyone participates in starting and managing a fire, preparing food, practicing knife safety, understanding the science behind how things cook with heat, following directions, and problem solving. Plus, we will relax and socialize while spending time outdoors. Various methods of outdoor cooking are explored including stick cooking, grilling, foil packets, Dutch Oven, skillet, and griddle cooking. Parents are welcome to enjoy campfire cooked food with their student at the end of class. Today's theme is: Breakfast.

Children will learn the game of tennis in a fun and encouraging atmosphere while learning proper grip, body positions, rules, and basic strokes. Intermediate players will review the basic strokes and work on lobs, overheads, and serves. All participants will receive a T-shirt.
This program will take place on Wednesdays, 7/5 - 7/26.
Our 5-8 year old session will go from 2:00 - 2:30pm.
Our 9-13 year old session will go from 3:00 - 3:30pm.

Campfire Cooking
Food, fire, and fun all in one! It's time to go beyond roasting hot dogs on a stick. Using the group cooking method, everyone participates in starting and managing a fire, preparing food, practicing knife safety, understanding the science behind how things cook with heat, following directions, and problem solving. Plus, we will relax and socialize while spending time outdoors. Various methods of outdoor cooking are explored including stick cooking, grilling, foil packets, Dutch Oven, skillet, and griddle cooking. Parents are welcome to enjoy campfire cooked food with their student at the end of class. Today's theme is: Favorite Snacks.
Location: Larsen Park Shelter (700 Creekview Ln. Lake in the Hills)
Food Allergy/Sensitivity Notice: While we do our best to accommodate allergies or sensitivities, food may be prepared with or contain dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, or tree nuts unless otherwise noted.

Kaper ParkDevelop new skills and confidence in a total sports class! This class features a new sport each week. Some of the sports taught and played include basketball, floor hockey, football, kickball, soccer, and baseball. In addition, participants play popular running and group games. No class 7/4.

Join us for lunch and great socializing at area restaurants. Today we will be dining at Bobbers in Lake Zurich. Participants will order off the menu and self pay. You may drive on your own or take the Park District mini bus for $5 for Cary Park District residents or $6 for non-residents. The mini bus leaves at 11:15 am from the Community Center. The reservation at Bobbers is at 11:45 am.
Advanced registration is required for all participants whether riding the bus or driving yourself. Registration is accepted online and at the Community Center. Registration deadline is August 15 and refunds will not be issued after the deadline.

This is the perfect event for college students, people that live in apartments and townhomes, or those that don’t have enough items or time for a weekend-long garage sale. Each registered seller will have one parking space to display and sell items. A detailed letter will be emailed to all registered sellers.

Fall Softball League - Men's Recreational

Depending on the number of teams, games are played at Lions Park with game times at 7:00 pm, 8:00 pm, and 9:00 pm. Each team will play each other twice. The number of teams registered in a particular league determines league formats. Post season playoffs are planned for the league. The league will start Thursday, August 31.
Information packets are available at the Community Center. A manager’s meeting will be scheduled on the first night of the league at the fields beginning at 6:30 pm.
Teams must be able to make all time slots available for play; there are no requests for specific game times. This league is sanctioned by the National Softball Association (NSA). 60% of the roster must reside within the Cary Park District boundaries to receive the resident rate.

Spring/Summer Softball League - Men's Recreational

The number of teams registered determine the league format. A single-elimination tournament will follow the end of the regular season. The league begins Thursday, May 2.
Registration packets are available at carypark.com in the ‘Athletics’ section and at the Community Center. A manager’s meeting will be held on the first night of the league at the Lions Park ballfields.
Teams must be able to make all time slots available for play (7:00 pm, 8:00 pm, or 9:00 pm). There are no requests for specific game times. This league is sanctioned by the National Softball Association (NSA).
60% of the roster must reside within the Cary Park District boundaries to receive the resident rate. Non-resident fee is an additional $100 and will be determined when the team roster is submitted.
