Campfire Cooking–
Campfire Cooking
Food, fire, and fun all in one! It's time to go beyond roasting hot dogs on a stick. Using the group cooking method, everyone participates in starting and managing a fire, preparing food, practicing knife safety, understanding the science behind how things cook with heat, following directions, and problem solving. Plus, we will relax and socialize while spending time outdoors. Various methods of outdoor cooking are explored including stick cooking, grilling, foil packets, Dutch Oven, skillet, and griddle cooking. Parents are welcome to enjoy campfire cooked food with their student at the end of class. Today's theme is: Desserts.
Location: Larsen Park Shelter (700 Creekview Ln. Lake in the Hills)
Food Allergy/Sensitivity Notice: While we do our best to accommodate allergies or sensitivities, food may be prepared with or contain dairy, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, or tree nuts unless otherwise noted.
Dress: Participants and staff should wear close-toed shoes while cooking outdoors. Long hair, strings, and cords should be tied back. No nylon or plastic clothing should be worn including shirts with plastic decals or lettering.

Join us for lunch and great socializing at area restaurants. Today we will be dining at Bobbers in Lake Zurich. Participants will order off the menu and self pay. You may drive on your own or take the Park District mini bus for $5 for Cary Park District residents or $6 for non-residents. The mini bus leaves at 11:15 am from the Community Center. The reservation at Bobbers is at 11:45 am.
Advanced registration is required for all participants whether riding the bus or driving yourself. Registration is accepted online and at the Community Center. Registration deadline is August 15 and refunds will not be issued after the deadline.

Sell your unwanted or no longer needed belongings alongside your friends, neighbors, and others from all over the community. This is the perfect event for college students, people that live in apartments and townhomes, or those that don’t have enough items or time for a weekend-long garage sale. Each registered seller will have one parking space to display and sell items. A detailed letter will be emailed to all registered sellers.
The sale will be open to the public between 9:00am - 12:00pm.

Kaper ParkHone your soccer skills in the off season with this weekly skills clinic conducted by OM Soccer Skills. This is an opportunity for new players to gain valuable skills and for experienced players to grow their abilities. Practices will be fast paced, drill, and game focused but most importantly, fun.
The program will be held on Wednesdays, 8/30 - 10/4 between 5:00-6:00 pm.

Fall Softball League - Men's Recreational
Lions Park1200 Silver Lake RdCary, IL 60013Get your team together and compete in a recreational softball league. Depending on the number of teams, games are played at Lions Park with game times at 7:00 pm, 8:00 pm, and 9:00 pm. Each team will play each other twice. The number of teams registered in a particular league determines league formats. Post season playoffs are planned for the league. The league will start Thursday, August 31.
Information packets are available at the Community Center. A manager’s meeting will be scheduled on the first night of the league at the fields beginning at 6:30 pm.
Teams must be able to make all time slots available for play; there are no requests for specific game times. This league is sanctioned by the National Softball Association (NSA). 60% of the roster must reside within the Cary Park District boundaries to receive the resident rate.

Spring/Summer Softball League - Men's Recreational–
Spring/Summer Softball League - Men's Recreational
Lions Park1200 Silver Lake RdCary, IL 60013Get your team together and compete in a recreational softball league. Games are played at Lions Park with game times on the hour beginning at 7:00 pm. The number of teams registered determine the league format. A single-elimination tournament will follow the end of the regular season. The league begins Thursday, May 2.
Registration packets are available at carypark.com in the ‘Athletics’ section and at the Community Center. A manager’s meeting will be held on the first night of the league at the Lions Park ballfields.
Teams must be able to make all time slots available for play (7:00 pm, 8:00 pm, or 9:00 pm). There are no requests for specific game times. This league is sanctioned by the National Softball Association (NSA).

This program includes Hatha yoga postures, techniques, and sequences for flexibility, strength, postural alignment, increased energy, and overall health. Beginners are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement. We also encourage you to bring your own props.

This action-packed program explores drama through movement, imagination, group games, and story playing. Using puppets and props children practice and perform classic children’s stories. Learn to be “characters” and be comfortable pretending in class.

Kaper ParkDevelop new skills and confidence in a total sports class! This class features a new sport each week. Some of the sports taught and played include basketball, floor hockey, football, kickball, soccer, and baseball. In addition, participants play popular running and group games.

Children's Theater Company of Cary–

Community Center255 Briargate RoadCary, IL 60013Develop confidence, creativity, and stage presence while participating in a Cary Park District directed performance. Learn what it takes to make theater magic happen in a fun, yet driven environment. Students audition for a role in the play, are cast by the director, and will rehearse until show time. All students are guaranteed a speaking role in the play. Students will also play games while working on impromptu, projection, and listening skills. Students must be available for all rehearsals and the performance day. Tech week will take place the 10/30-11/3. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled as needed. Performance date is November 3.

This class includes instruction on all major volleyball skills: serving, passing, setting, and attacking. Daily scrimmages will allow players to use these skills in a game environment.

Kaper ParkJoin in on the fun and start playing the nation’s most loved game! Players are introduced to stance, receiving, rushing, blocking, and defense. Each week ends with a scrimmage encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship. Games focus on fundamentals and field concepts, as well as, positions and mechanics. No equipment necessary.

Kaper ParkPlayers experience daily scrimmages with active instruction and tips from the coaching staff. Players are encouraged to employ skills used in football such as running pass routes, play calling, defensive positioning, fundamentals of blocking, and pass coverage. These skills and others will be put to use in a “game time” environment while the players scrimmage each week.

This fun program will allow your child to release energy, make friends, and keep moving. Players will be placed on a team prior to the first practice. Each participant should bring shin guards and will receive a t-shirt. Registration deadline is 8/30. Make up day is scheduled for 10/14.
The program will be held on Saturdays, 9/9 - 10/7 between 9:00-9:45 am for both age groups.
