Some of the sports taught and played include basketball, floor hockey, football, kickball, soccer, and baseball. In addition, participants play popular running and group games.

Children's Theater Company of Cary–
Children's Theater Company of CaryCommunity Center255 Briargate RoadCary, IL 60013Develop confidence, creativity, and stage presence while participating in a Cary Park District directed performance. Learn what it takes to make theater magic happen in a fun, yet driven environment. Students audition for a role in the play, are cast by the director, and will rehearse until show time. All students are guaranteed a speaking role in the play. Students will also play games while working on impromptu, projection, and listening skills. Students must be available for all rehearsals and the performance day. Tech week will take place the 10/30-11/3. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled as needed. Performance date is November 3.

Game Time Flag Football–
Game Time Flag FootballKaper ParkPlayers experience daily scrimmages with active instruction and tips from the coaching staff. Players are encouraged to employ skills used in football such as running pass routes, play calling, defensive positioning, fundamentals of blocking, and pass coverage. These skills and others will be put to use in a “game time” environment while the players scrimmage each week.

Players work on techniques and enhancing form in this comprehensive skills clinic. This program teaches throwing mechanics, as well as, batting stance, bat positioning, and speed using both live pitching and hitting off the tee. Players learn various positions in the field through game play and the basics of game strategy. Players should bring their own gloves and be ready for a fun, fast paced learning environment.

Students in these classes will form bonds with their classmates through the storytelling of each song played and the emotions they are asked to convey. Classes include improvisation, floor work, combinations, center, across the floor, partner lifts, and more.

There are plenty of benefits to immersing yourself in nature through a forest therapy walk (also called forest bathing). Participants will be guided through a series of gentle invitations to slow down, be present, and explore nature through the senses. Forest Bathing Walk

Forest Bathing WalkSands E. Main Street PrairieEast Main Street, east of Decker DriveTake part in a slow, mindful walk that will help you awaken your senses and connect with nature. There are plenty of benefits to immersing yourself in nature through a forest therapy walk (also called forest bathing). You can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, boost immunity, and increase feelings of calm and gratitude. Walks are not strenuous and cover less than half a mile. Participants will be guided through a series of gentle invitations to slow down, be present, and explore nature through the senses. The program will finish with a “forest tea” featuring tea made from locally harvested plants. Each walk will be different, so feel free to join more than one! This session will be held at Sands Main Street Prairie in Cary.

We will add lightweight maraca-like toning sticks to enhance your sense of rhythm and coordination while toning target zones, including arms, core, and lower body for 30 minutes of the class. The challenge of adding resistance by using Zumba Toning sticks helps you focus on specific muscle groups, so you (and your muscles) stay engaged.
The program will be held on Sundays, 11/12 - 12/17 between 9:00-10:00 am.
