Kaper ParkCool off with the Cary Area Public Library for a Splash Pad Storytime at Kaper Park. The storytime will feature stories, rhymes, music, and movement followed by the Splash Pad opening at 10:00 am. Registration is not required.

Community Center255 Briargate RoadCary, IL 60013Jazz is a style of dance incorporating grand body movements such as kicks, jumps, leaps, turns, tricks, etc. to enhance its choreography. Ballet technique is used to execute movements with proper technique and body placement. Our jazz classes include several different categories including but not limited to jazz/funk, contemporary jazz, commercial jazz, and more. Hip-Hop is a style of dance constantly evolving with the culture of hip-hop music. Classes learn all different styles of hip-hop by doing different combinations each week from different genres. Dancers use some breaking moves and tricks to enhance the dances.
The program will be held on Thursdays, July 11 - August 22 between 4:00-5:00 pm.

This class will teach you and your child the basics of casting, unhooking fish, and baiting the hook. All equipment, supplies, and bait will be provided. No experience necessary. Only one registration is required per family.

It is best known for its unique features such as turnout of the legs, and it’s graceful, flowing and precise movements. Ballet is the basis of almost every dance style and its techniques are very important for classes such as lyrical, contemporary & jazz.

Community Center255 Briargate RoadCary, IL 60013Underwater exploration comes to life in this 5-day cartoon workshop. Follow our four cartoon characters as they explore the deep blue sea. Students draw the cartoon characters in their underwater sea station, draw jokes about life on the job, and illustrate other crazy encounters with Sketch and his animal friends. Cartooning techniques like expression, sequencing, and scenic development are just a few of the hilarious lessons learned all workshop long.

Our innovative approach to coding will spark your child’s interest in computer science, using a simple, relatable, block-based programming system called Scratch developed by MIT Media Lab. The fun-filled curriculum stresses critical thinking, creativity, confidence, teamwork, and problem solving skills to prepare them for the 21st century and beyond. Class topics include video game design, loops, control structure, conditional expressions, control statements, object oriented design concepts, data structures and variables, and mathematical expressions. This program is a co-op with Crystal Lake Park District and the Lake in the Hills Park & Recreation Department. This program will be held at Woodscreek Program Facility, 1420Willow Tree Drive in Crystal Lake.

The Thrills & Chills of Ice Cream Science and History - A Yummy Lab Experience
Making and eating ice cream is a fun way to introduce early physics and chemistry teachings to children. Kids can become an expert on this beloved treat and billion-dollar business as we make a batch of homemade ice cream in a bag. Also, explore the science of the amusement park treat, Dippin’ Dots and the first novelty ice cream treat on a stick. Then sit down for the most outrageous ice cream eating contest in town. Who will be crowned King or Queen? This is a child’s dream class that puts the fun back into learning and building self-esteem. This class explores both chemical and industrial engineering concepts, along with how this treat evolved. This class will be sticky, please dress accordingly. A themed souvenir is included. This is a co-op program with Crystal Lake Park District and the Lake in the Hills Recreation Department. This program is held at Woodscreek, 1420 Willow Tree Drive in Crystal Lake.
