The Cary Park District has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Fiscal Year 2024–25 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) by the Government Finance Officers Association. This is the 19th consecutive year that the Park District has been awarded this achievement!
This recognition is the highest form of acknowledgment in governmental accounting and financial reporting. It reflects the District’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and clear communication of its financial position to the community.
Earning this award requires meeting rigorous standards, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate financial information and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
This achievement would not have been possible without the exceptional work of the District’s Finance team. Preparing the ACFR at this level requires extensive coordination, technical expertise, and careful attention to detail. Their dedication to accuracy and high standards ensures the District continues to uphold best practices in financial reporting.
