Royal Oak OrchardEnjoy a beautiful fall day in the countryside as we travel to Harvard, Illinois. Our visit includes a guided orchard tour, where we’ll learn about the history of the family farm, how the orchard is cared for, and the important role of honey bees. There will also be time to explore the Country Store Market, Royal Oak Bakery, and Sweet Shop for seasonal treats and unique gifts. We will enjoy a self-pay lunch at the Country Restaurant, known for its homemade entrées, sandwiches, and famous pies. The registration fee includes transportation by Park District bus and a bag for apple picking. Moderate walking is involved with this trip. Registration deadline is August 26 and refunds will not be issued after the deadline.

Magic Meadows Alpaca Farm and Busy BeeEmbark on a relaxing visit to Magic Meadows Alpaca Farm, where we will spend time with these gentle and curious animals in a peaceful country setting. During our visit, we’ll learn about alpaca care and daily farm life, meet the farm’s alpacas up close, and even have the opportunity to enter the girls’ enclosure to feed them. We’ll also meet Famous Rainier, one of the farm’s well-known alpacas who has appeared on local television and at special events throughout the area. Guests will also have time to browse alpaca products available for purchase at the farm shop. Starved Rock - CoOpBack by popular demand! If you missed previous chances, don’t worry! We are revisiting the #1 attraction in the State of Illinois- Starved Rock State Park. On this tour we will begin our day at the rustic Starved Rock Lodge for lunch in the Main Dining Room. You will have the opportunity to make a menu selection from several savory options. Hot or iced tea, lemonade, or a soft drink are included. Now we begin our tour of the area. Half of your tour will be spent on a boat ride on the Illinois River learning about the rich culture and lush wildlife of the area. The other half will be a land tour of popular sites to visit and learn about on a Trolley. We will finish back at the Lodge where you can shop the gift shop or the sweet shop.
