{"id":72303,"date":"2026-04-24T07:27:01","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T12:27:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.carypark.com\/rccms\/?page_id=72303"},"modified":"2026-04-24T07:30:24","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T12:30:24","slug":"adopt","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.carypark.com\/rccms\/adopt\/","title":{"rendered":"Adopt-a-Bench or Tree Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Cary Park District Adopt-a-Bench or Tree Program<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"215\" data-end=\"323\">Looking for a meaningful way to honor someone special, celebrate a milestone, or give back to the community?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"325\" data-end=\"513\">The Cary Park District\u2019s <strong data-start=\"350\" data-end=\"383\">Adopt-a-Bench or Tree Program<\/strong> offers individuals, families, businesses, and organizations the opportunity to leave a lasting mark in our parks and open spaces.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"515\" data-end=\"682\">Whether you\u2019re memorializing a loved one or showing your community pride, your contribution helps enhance and maintain the spaces that bring people together every day.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"9kmvp5\" data-start=\"684\" data-end=\"700\">How It Works<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"701\" data-end=\"746\">Participants can choose from several options:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"747\" data-end=\"883\">\n<li data-section-id=\"40duwz\" data-start=\"747\" data-end=\"797\">Install a new bench with a personalized plaque<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"7tfd9t\" data-start=\"798\" data-end=\"835\">Add a plaque to an existing bench<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"13ahfon\" data-start=\"836\" data-end=\"883\">Adopt a tree planted within our park system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1g456zt\" data-start=\"885\" data-end=\"915\">A Meaningful, Modern Touch<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"916\" data-end=\"1158\">\n<li data-section-id=\"ml0qq8\" data-start=\"916\" data-end=\"1051\"><strong data-start=\"918\" data-end=\"957\">Bench plaques now include a QR code<\/strong>, allowing you to share a story, photos, and memories of the person or message being honored<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1xpun65\" data-start=\"1052\" data-end=\"1158\"><strong data-start=\"1054\" data-end=\"1094\">Tree adoptions include a bronze leaf<\/strong> displayed on our new Recognition Wall at the Community Center<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"14hhftd\" data-start=\"1160\" data-end=\"1182\">Program Highlights<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"1183\" data-end=\"1361\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1y3bso3\" data-start=\"1183\" data-end=\"1208\">10-year adoption term<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1nwxm51\" data-start=\"1209\" data-end=\"1263\">Park District handles installation and maintenance<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1ehm1p1\" data-start=\"1264\" data-end=\"1300\">Personalized recognition options<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1mz9v3h\" data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1361\">Native tree plantings that support our local environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1jw5f4n\" data-start=\"1363\" data-end=\"1383\">Make Your Impact<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1384\" data-end=\"1477\">Your adoption helps support the care, improvement, and long-term sustainability of our parks.<\/p>\n<h3>Guidelines<\/h3>\n<p>The following items are considered specific guidelines associated with this policy and shall be assigned to corresponding procedures as developed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Executive Director, or assigned delegate, shall administer the Adopt-a-Bench or Tree Program to provide opportunities for individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to adopt benches or trees within Park District properties.<\/li>\n<li>A program participation agreement for each project will record the participant information, location where the bench or tree will be installed, and the associated program details. The agreement will outline the responsibilities between the participant and the Park District.<\/li>\n<li>The Executive Director, or assigned delegate, shall develop and maintain a schedule of fees associated with the Adopt-a-Bench or Tree Program, which may include installation, materials, administrative costs, and maintenance.<\/li>\n<li>All benches and trees installed through the program become the property and responsibility of the Park District.<\/li>\n<li>The Executive Director, or assigned delegate, will determine the appropriate locations for program installation and recognition elements within Park District properties.<\/li>\n<li>All trees installed through the Adopt-a-Bench or Tree Program shall be native species selected and approved by the Park District.
