Community Center255 Briargate RoadCary, IL 60013Celebrate National Trails Day on Saturday, June 3 by walking, biking, or skating the 12 miles of trail within the community.
National Trails Day, sponsored by the American Hiking Society, is the country's largest celebration of trails. This day increases awareness about the trails and celebrates the hard work and support of many people and partners including volunteers, land agencies, and outdoor minded businesses who take care of America's trails.
There are approximately 12 miles of trail throughout the community. The Cary Park District, Village of Cary, and Cary Consolidated School District 26 have built and currently maintain certain portions of the community trail system. Trails provide a great opportunity to enjoy walking, biking, and in-line skating while providing access to local parks, schools, the library, an commerce.

Take part in the annual Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run contest to compete against other youth from across the country in a baseball and softball contest. Each contestant will go through a series of three drills to record the best score possible. The boy and girl who score the highest in each age group will be entered into a pool with other local competition winners. The top scorers in the pool will advance to a regional contest in the area with potential of moving onto the national finals.
Age Requirements
Participants must be 7 years old by November 15, 2023 and cannot turn 15 years old before November 15, 2023. If you advance in the competition, birth certificates will be checked before being able to compete.
Bat Requirements
All personal bats used must have either a USA Baseball stamp, BBCOR stamp, or be labeled with a BPF of 1.15 or less.

We will add lightweight maraca-like toning sticks to enhance your sense of rhythm and coordination while toning target zones, including arms, core, and lower body for 30 minutes of the class. The challenge of adding resistance by using Zumba Toning sticks helps you focus on specific muscle groups, so you (and your muscles) stay engaged.

Develop your child's intellect through the royal game of chess! This half-day camp is perfect for beginners as well as experienced players. Each day of camp will consist of a fun interactive teaching period, followed by guided practice time, allowing the students to play against one another while being coached by an experienced instructor. The cap session will conclude with a non-elimination tournament. Please bring your own snacks. This program is a co-op with Crystal Lake Park District and the Lake in the Hills Park & Recreation Department. This is a great way to combine fashion design skills and learn new manga tricks. Each day, students will compete multiple pieces of artwork.

We will illustrate a sea turtle with bold patterns, a blue crab, and a wonderful jellyfish. These pastel drawings will reward students with a great sense of pride and accomplishment!

Learn what it takes to make theater magic happen in a fun, yet driven environment. Students audition for a role in the play, are cast by the director, and will rehearse until show time. All students are guaranteed a speaking role in the play. Students will also play games while working on impromptu, projection, and listening skills. Students must be available for all rehearsals and the performance day. Tech week will take place the entire week preceding the performance. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled as needed. Performance date is August 9. No class 7/4.

This is a co-ed league. Teams will need a minimum of 5 players on the roster and half the players on the court for game play must be female.

Food, fire, and fun all in one! It's time to go beyond roasting hot dogs on a stick. Using the group cooking method, everyone participates in starting and managing a fire, preparing food, practicing knife safety, understanding the science behind how things cook with heat, following directions, and problem solving. Plus, we will relax and socialize while spending time outdoors. Various methods of outdoor cooking are explored including stick cooking, grilling, foil packets, Dutch Oven, skillet, and griddle cooking. Parents are welcome to enjoy campfire cooked food with their student at the end of class. Today's theme is: Breakfast.

Food, fire, and fun all in one! It's time to go beyond roasting hot dogs on a stick. Using the group cooking method, everyone participates in starting and managing a fire, preparing food, practicing knife safety, understanding the science behind how things cook with heat, following directions, and problem solving. Plus, we will relax and socialize while spending time outdoors. Various methods of outdoor cooking are explored including stick cooking, grilling, foil packets, Dutch Oven, skillet, and griddle cooking. Parents are welcome to enjoy campfire cooked food with their student at the end of class. Today's theme is: Favorite Snacks.

Campfire Cooking–
Campfire Cooking
Food, fire, and fun all in one! It's time to go beyond roasting hot dogs on a stick. Using the group cooking method, everyone participates in starting and managing a fire, preparing food, practicing knife safety, understanding the science behind how things cook with heat, following directions, and problem solving. Plus, we will relax and socialize while spending time outdoors. Various methods of outdoor cooking are explored including stick cooking, grilling, foil packets, Dutch Oven, skillet, and griddle cooking. Parents are welcome to enjoy campfire cooked food with their student at the end of class. Today's theme is: Desserts.
Location: Larsen Park Shelter (700 Creekview Ln. Lake in the Hills)

Dress: Participants and staff should wear close-toed shoes while cooking outdoors. Long hair, strings, and cords should be tied back. No nylon or plastic clothing should be worn including shirts with plastic decals or lettering.

Fall Softball League - Men's Recreational
Lions Park1200 Silver Lake RdCary, IL 60013Get your team together and compete in a recreational softball league. Depending on the number of teams, games are played at Lions Park with game times at 7:00 pm, 8:00 pm, and 9:00 pm. Each team will play each other twice. The number of teams registered in a particular league determines league formats. Post season playoffs are planned for the league. The league will start Thursday, August 31.
Information packets are available at the Community Center. A manager’s meeting will be scheduled on the first night of the league at the fields beginning at 6:30 pm.
Teams must be able to make all time slots available for play; there are no requests for specific game times. This league is sanctioned by the National Softball Association (NSA). 60% of the roster must reside within the Cary Park District boundaries to receive the resident rate.
