Sands E. Main Street Prairie Walk
In celebration of spring, the Cary Park District will host two free prairie walks open to all residents. The walks, lead by a local biologists and naturalists, will educate participants on spring prairie plants, wildflowers, birds, insects and how Native Americans used the prairie.
The walk will be held on National Prairie Day, Saturday, June 5 beginning at 9:00 am and 10:00 am at Sands Main Street Prairie located on East Main Street, east of Decker Drive. Bring the entire family and learn the history and dynamics of one of Cary’s rarest and most unique parks. This program is free and will consist of light walking over a short distance. Each walk will last approximately one hour.
