National Donut Day is June 7 and we are celebrating a couple days later! Have you ever wondered where the idea for the donut originated? We will investigate the the history of the donut as we nibble on an assortment of decadent donuts and socialize with new friends. We will also learn when we have a “hole” in our life and how to strategically handle sadness, stress, friendships or other issues. We are calling on some of our favorite donut makers to provide gourmet donuts for this novel workshop. Kids love this light-hearted class and will leave with a few new ideas on how to handle their current “holes” or future potholes they may stumble into. All kids leave with a themed souvenir. This is a co-op program with Crystal Lake Park District and the Lake in the Hills Recreation Department.
