Sunburst Swim School is a unique program that challenges participants to learn and grow as a swimmer. The curriculum starts with the basics of water safety and builds a skill set that enables swimmers to be safe in aquatic settings, and even advance to competitive levels if they choose. The swim instructor team is diligently trained by experienced instructors and Swim School coordinators. With safety being the program's priority, lifeguards are always on duty while swimmers are in class.

Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative style of yoga that involves hold-ing grounded, passive poses to increase mobility and reduce stress. Yin Yoga emphasizes deep relaxation and mindfulness and is designed to increase flexibility and promote joint mobility. It contrasts with more active styles of yoga, offering a calming and restorative practice that balances the body’s energy. in a Cary Park District directed performance. Learn what it takes to make theater magic happen in a fun, yet driven environment. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the “dive” into a certification course then this experience is for you! While not a scuba cer-tification course, Scuba Discovery is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwa-ter world. This class is taught by PADI certified divers. Participants must be at least 10 years old and no prior scuba diving experience is necessary. All equipment is provided.

Don’t let summer boredom grab your child. Keep him or her amused and productive with Young Rembrandts. Students create cartoon illustrations inspired by a tropical paradise. Humorous parrot characters, fun grass skirts and a surfing sequence are just some of the drawings our students will depict.
Then, leave your creature comforts behind as you take an adventurous trek through the forest. A Young Rembrandts class gives your child the opportunity to strengthen his or her drawing skills, our students will create cartoon illustrations inspired by animals and the woodlands they inhabit. Funny animal expressions, a forest filled with ironic situations, and a humorous sequence of events are just some of the drawings our students will illustrate.

A Yummy Lab Experience!
Making and eating ice cream is a fun way to introduce early physics and chemistry teachings to children. Kids can become an expert on this beloved treat and billion-dollar business as we make a batch of homemade ice cream in a bag. Also, explore the science of the amusement park treat, Dippin’ Dots and the first novelty ice cream treat on a stick. Then sit down or the most outrageous ice cream eating contest in town. Who will be crowned King or Queen? This is a child’s dream class that puts the fun back into learning and building self-esteem. This class explores both chemical and industrial engineering concepts, along with how this treat evolved. This class will be sticky, please dress accordingly. A themed souvenir is included.

Four fun-filled days await our students as we explore ocean life and learn to draw and color with pastels. We will create detailed, pastel compositions each day, focusing on a different ocean-themed subject. We will draw eye catching sea stars along the shoreline and a pair of vibrant clown fish. We will illustrate a sea turtle with bold patterns, and a wondrous scene of jellyfish. Grilling with friends and family is a lifestyle enjoyed across generations. From backyard barbeques to gourmet dinners, the name Weber has been synonymous with great outdoor entertainment for over 65 years. On this trip, you will have a first-hand part in the Weber expertise and passion for grilling within their three-season enclosed patio at the Cooking School by Weber Grill. Upon arrival, we will start with delicious grill fired pizza and blue cheese stuffed mushrooms, followed by a choice of cedar plank salmon, smoked Carolina glazed pork chops, or grilled bistro steak (vegetarian option is available upon request). Each meal is served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes, grill roasted green beans, pretzel rolls with whipped cheddar butter and for dessert grilled pound cake with roasted fruit. Come join us for a meditative and healing experience at Sunburst Bay Aquatic Center. Participants will be “bathed” in resonant sounds using instruments like gongs, singing bowls, chimes and drums. Sound baths are great for anxiety and stress relief and often times provide a sense of peace and tranquility. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a blanket and a pillow. Participants can enjoy this experience either floating around the pool or relaxing on a lounge chair on the deck.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the “dive” into a certification course then this experience is for you! While not a scuba cer-tification course, Scuba Discovery is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwa-ter world. This class is taught by PADI certified divers. Participants must be at least 10 years old and no prior scuba diving experience is necessary. All equipment is provided.

Develop your child’s intellect through the royal game of chess! This half-day camp is perfect for both beginners and experienced players. Each day of camp will consist of a fun interactive teaching period followed by guided practice time allowing students to play against one another while coached by an instructor. Camp will conclude with a non-elimination tournament.

After the sky-high adventure, we will walk next door to Water Tower Place, Chicago’s premier shopping destination. Get your team together and compete in a recreational softball league. Depending on the number of teams, games are played at Lions Park with game times at 7:00 pm, 8:00 pm, and 9:00 pm. Each team will play each other twice. The number of teams registered in a particular league determines league formats. A single-elimination tournament will follow the end of the regular season.
Registration packets are available in the Athletics section and at the Community Center. A manager’s meeting will be scheduled on the first night of the league at the fields.
Teams must be able to make all time slots available for play; there are no requests for specific game times. This league is sanctioned by the National Softball Association (NSA). 60% of the roster must reside within the Cary Park District boundaries to receive the resident rate.

Come join us for a meditative and healing experience at Sunburst Bay Aquatic Center. Participants will be “bathed” in resonant sounds using instruments like gongs, singing bowls, chimes and drums. Sound baths are great for anxiety and stress relief and often times provide a sense of peace and tranquility. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a blanket and a pillow. Participants can enjoy this experience either floating around the pool or relaxing on a lounge chair on the deck.

Choose from a great assorted bead selection from crystals to sports, adventure, unicorn, animals, neon, and more. Crafts include fun accessories for school, decorating with paints, embellishments, stickers, and more. A surprise goodie bag goes home with all guests. This is a great class for girls and boys.
